Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

Centennial School has an active, supportive PAC! PAC provides fun family activities for the community, serves as an avenue for parents to share observations and express concerns and opinions to administration, and supports teachers in providing valuable learning opportunities for children. There are lots of ways to help out PAC and to be a part of this parent group.

HUGE thanks to all of the parents who answered the call and have come out to PAC over the past few months, and especially to our March meeting. I am feeling quite confident that we'll continue to have a thriving PAC next year. That having been said, the more people who come out to PAC, the easier it is to do things and spread the tasks out. We have one last PAC meeting during this school year - May 15th - and we'd love to see new faces.

A Parent Advisory Committee can be as busy as the members choose to make it. It’s OK for a PAC to be a small commitment. The primary purpose of a Parent Advisory Council is to work with the principal and school staff to contribute parent and community concerns and perspectives on issues related to the school. That’s it. The fundraising, community activities, staff appreciation, and support of school activities that are the hallmark of our current PAC are wonderful and appreciated, but those things are extras. We can decide what the new PAC will look like at our September, 2024 meeting.

The next PAC meeting will be May 15 at 6:00 pm in the school library. This will be the final PAC meeting of this school year. PAC are always looking for more people to join them and parents are encouraged to get involved with PAC. All parents are welcome to attend any or all PAC meetings. Attending a  meeting is a good way to introduce yourself to PAC and to get involved with your child's school!
