Principal's Message

WELCOME TO
CENTENNIAL SCHOOL
2021 -2022

As a school and as a community, we were very successful at navigating the Covid-19 protocols and practices that were imposed on us by the pandemic last year. It was certainly a different kind of school year. It was, however, also a very successful school year. Innovative, positive, and optimistic teachers, staff, students, and families allowed us to provide a quality education to our students as well as to include many of the fun things that are part of school.

The 2021-2022 school year will start off much like last year. We'll be asking you to keep children who are sick at home, we'll be masking up during transitions and when we can't maintain social distancing, we'll be in cohorts, and we'll be doing lots of sanitizing and hand washing. We're all used to that stuff now, though; no learning curve is required. We're ready to start this school year, confident that we will all make it another great one, because that's what we do in this school community. That's who we are!

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! Whether you’re a new student or a returning student, a family member or a staff member, a member of the community or a visitor, we’re pleased that you are at our school and hope that you enjoy your time here.

We are extremely proud of our school. We have a fantastic staff and we are known division-wide for being innovative, keen, and busy educators. We believe strongly in the power of relationships and offer classroom environments and programming that look after the whole child: academic, physical, and social-emotional.

It is our hope that, in partnership with parents, caregivers, and community members, we can inspire children to be critical thinkers; creative problem-solvers; eager, lifelong learners; active community members; and positive, happy people. Lofty goals, but important ones!

Take a look through our School Handbook and feel free to call any time throughout the year to ask questions, raise concerns, thank staff members, or just to find out what’s going on. If you're a parent or family member, request to join our Facebook page to get extra information about what's going on in the school. It’s going to be another great year at Centennial!
